Health insurance can be confusing. Please call us 515-285-6766.
Individuals under 65 who purchased an ACA plan after March 2010, have built in essential health benefits (EHB). These fall into 10 categories. I have a link to Wellmark’s information that I felt best explained and described these EHBs. Please click on the link and you’ll better understand what the essential health benefits are.
Helping You Understand Health Insurance
If you click on this link, and you scroll to the bottom of the page, you will find three tabs. One of those is “search for an SBC” (summary of benefits and coverage). If you are a Wellmark policy holder, you can look up your benefits in an easily-formatted manner for your reference. The second tab “See The Uniform Glossary of Benefits” will help you better understand definitions of some of the terms used. The third tab is called “Coverage Exclusions“. It’s nice to know what’s covered, but it’s also very important to know what’s not covered.
This is a link to a Wellmark site that I think you would find quick and easy to use. It’s going to explain options for individuals and families. It will contain some quick links to find your doctor or hospital and it also has links for professionals.
