The average long-term disability is nearly 3 years. One in 5 adults experience a long-term disability and the majority are ill-prepared to cover the expenses if they are unable to work.
Stop and think about it. After you watch this one minute video.
The paycheck that we work so hard to get and is so competitive, we do not insure. This is our lifeline and we have neglected to protect it? How many things are based on our income? So, get your expense sheet out and look at what you would you do without: Your home? Your kid’s education? Groceries? You name it.
Even if your income was partially impaired, say 50%, would this make a change for everybody under your roof that’s dependent upon your income. If you lost your job, it would be catastrophic and that would always be someone else’s fault. If we had a serious illness or injury that prevented us from doing our job and we hadn’t prepared for it, this is worse. Because it’s not like you can go and find a new employer. Think about this. It’s extremely important that you think about this. The cost for this type of insurance has been described as 1 – 2% of your income. We spend more than that and never give it a thought. On items that have no significance. Please call me for a free consultation.
